18s Openface Key Wind
"Madison" was used as a trade name (trademark) on pocket watch movements manufactured by International Watch Co. They manufactured watches in Newark City, New Jersey from approximately 1902 to 1907.
International Watch Co. produced non-jeweled and jeweled pocket watches that were inexpensive and nickel plated, names on their watches include: Berkshire, Madison and Mascot.
Today, we are offering this rare and unique timepiece, a vintage Madison Watch Co. pocket watch openface, size 18s and dated from circa 1900.
It is a key wind (key is not included) pocket watch with a jeweled mechanical movement signed "Madison Watch Co." and "Madison Wisc." Openface, size 18s, sub-second hand and serial number 928356.
After 120 years, still has the original white ceramic dial (showing some age and patina) featuring black Roman Numerals, black minute track and blue steel matching hands. The sub second is located at 6 o'clock position. The dial is also signed "Madison Watch Co."
Cased in a 57mm round openface Silveroid case with a jointed (hinged) back and an inner back or dust protector (cuvette), this opens and reveal the movement.
The condition is AS IS! The watch is running but it needs service! - AS IS! Running but it needs service!

Vintage watches are traditionally smaller than today's watches. Men’s watches typically measure between 29-36mm wide (some larger, some smaller) excluding the crown. This indeed magnifies any flaws. Usually, they are much less obvious to the naked eye. Having said that, we never photoshop any of our photography, remove blemishes, etc. We adjust the lighting, when necessary, but what you see is what you are getting, and we take pride in that.
The condition is pre-owned.
The item may have some signs of cosmetic wear but is fully operational and functions as intended.
